Hey guys I picked up a maxima clam from rap l. My first clam and I was looking for other people that owned one I'm in search of tips and advice to ensure his survival. Also looking for pics of what your clam normally looks like to reference.

Congrats on your clam! I have a Crocea that I've had for 6 months and it is doing well. There some good information about keeping clams right here on R2R; just find the sticky in the clam forum. Took me a little time to find a spot where my clam was happy but since finding it's sweet spot it's settled in nicely and is growing well. Maximas generally prefer to be on the rock work, I would bury a piece of rock rubble in the sand and place the clam on top; once attached the clam can be moved around till you get it in a spot it likes. Strong lighting and consistently good water chemistry are key, as are appropriate selection of other critters that won't molest your clam. As long as the clam is healthy from the start and you provide it with the above you should have great success with it. Good luck!
