Iso drawer algae scrubber ideas

Hi all, so I've been wanting an algae scrubber for a while but don't have anymore room in my sump and other ones are too expensive. I do have a drawer type return to my sump which has filter pads in all except for the last one. Since water already falls on it like a waterfall I think all I need are the rough material and a light source.
The light source is where I'm stuck, it would need to be fully submersible, thin and flat but strong enough to get good growth. Anyone have any ideas on this or if this idea would even work?

I've tried several ways to make my own underwater leds. The one that worked the best has been clear casting acrylic. I've intended to build another one for my quarantine tank. Maybe I'll put together a how to on it.

I'm sure that if you use enough wattage of 660 nm leds, some kind of algae will grow.

Tunze macro algae light is around 65 dollars, it is fully submersible and grow s algae great. It is about 10 inches long and pretty thin
