Isopod, is this one good or bad?

Just spot fed my homemade food for the first time and billions of these guys came running out/underneath of the rock. They were crawling all over my Trachyphyllia and any food that fell on the bottom. I've spot fed before with just mysis or krill, but have never seen these things, or the huge amount of worms, brittle stars and snails that emerged from everywhere.

I tried searching what type these are, but I'm still unsure if these are bad or not. I haven't seen them swimming and none of my fish seem to be plagued by them. Judging by the numbers that just ran around, I'd say they've been in the tank for a while.

Any thoughts what they are exactly? Should I be worried?
I have a H. chrysus wrasse that's hunting little bugs all day long

It's the grey striped bug right in front of the half buried shell. Kind of looks like a woodlouse.

I'll try to get a better picture when I see them again.

Wow, cool. That's slightly different than normal amphipods.
Your wrasse will enjoy looking for them.
Their behavior - scavenger that comes out at night tells you they are fine and not a fish parasite isopod.

Bumping this thread. I have a bottle trap for my shrimp out at the moment with the homemade food again. Hundreds of these things popped up. There's soooo much more than what's visible on the video.

Are they still good? I have never seen one attack a fish or anything, but they swim around and are just huge.

They actually ate all of the bait in less than 2 minutes. Literally within seconds of squirting the food in, there were 30+ of them inside the bottle already. Also I used to see lots of those transparant pods running around at night, but not anymore. Thet flourish in the sump though. Not sure if that's related or if that's because my wrasses ate them all.

Very cool never seen that before in my reef. I use dry rock now tho so I dont get much except for what I add.

I think these came in with corals or something. Haven't added new rock in months and never saw them before. Then again, I never saw much critters pop up when I still fed dry food/frozen food from the store.

Just hoping they aren't bad or anything, because they sure seem useful, seeing as they absolutely demolish the food in that trap.
