Issue with the G5 firmware update?

I’d agree with this. Some of the hiccups have been annoying, sure, but I’m still satisfied overall with the light. The color is great, the corals are growing, and the Ecotech service has been quick to respond and take care of issues.

Everyone says "let the early adopters handle the bugs I'll buy one later those idiots hahaha." But you need those early adopters to help the product for the future purchasers. I've had some bugs yeah, but it ain't broken and they are working on it (during a global pandemic mind you).

curious what settings u guys on for sps tank? im currently running a 12 hour light period with peak light for 6 hours n 3 hours each side warm up warm down. currently running at 75% intensity. higher part gets 300+ par.

Right now I'm ab+ 12hrs, 1.5hr ramp on each end with the intensity slider at 40%. Still waiting for livestock reactions to go up or down on intensity. My sps haven't cared yet but my RBTA is looking a little pale. Can't tell if it's too much light pale or not enough. But the sps are happy.

My lights 6/7inches off water though so 40% is hitting harder than if it was 8/9 inches off the water.

Ever since the stupid update I have to reprogram my three lights every day. I notice two of the lights starting to ramp down around 3pm, when they are set from 9am to 9pm. I fix them and the next day the three lights will all be on a different schedule you can easily see the difference in the light brightness. This has happened every day since last tuesday's update. I always save the schedule when I fix them.

From my understanding of what's going on with the software team, I would say this is not what should be going on! Give us a call at the number below so that we can help you out.

Thanks for your reply I did just call and after being on hold for 30 minutes it went to voice mail. I left a message with my phone number. I will try again

what was the cause of the issue?
I lost one of my lights from the app, Tim helped me reset the light. You have to push the buttons in a sequence. There is no information that I could find online about the new G5's

Documentation is lacking. This came in the box with my lights.

Awesome !!! I’m at work right now and wife just called me to ask me why the lights are on full blast when the acclimation program still has 17 days left!!!! See my post number 34 was my original issue directly after the update. Now I had to have my wife unplug both lights from the wall till I get home from work to figure this out. Again echo tech I’m very frustrated here. If no one was home to see this happen my 1400$ of new corals would be under 180 par when acclimation was at 30 or so. Could have been a Disaster.

Hmmm I did buy and install 2 more g5 lights yesterday for a different frag tank and I set them up as another tank with a complete different schedule and program. Last night after updating new G5’s everything was working perfectly before I went to bed. I’m not sure how adding about th er tank to my mobuis would have Affected my original display tank lights Anyways back to work Still a few more cars to fix Let’s hope I can keep my mind on them instead of my problems that are happening at home

Time to set her up with Mobius so if you have to call in an adjustment you can. Lack of remote information and adjustments are killing me. I miss Apex integration. Or at least some cloud system.

I only have ONE light and mine goes wild off schedule still.

So long story short my wife did not want to move the stuff under my stand to get to plugs so she put pizza boxes in front of lights to block them till I got home . I logged In with mobius and performed reboot all device procedure from settings tab and lights then dimmed down to acclimation level. Now let’s see what will happen tomorrow and how my other 2 will act when they supposta turn on in 5 hours

Had to hit resume schedule again. It's like it forgets what time it is or something. It just stayed on its peak intensity again. I only have the one light! It was fine before the update!

I think your right would be best for her to have mobius for me to at least try to walk her threw it till things are fixed. Can’t wait to have this conversation with her haha haha

There is definitly a problem with the update we just had. This same thing just happen to me. For past week,at this time Of the day lights are almost off for the day Very dim but I’m sitting here looking at bright lights. So I click the resume schedule button and the lights dim down to where they supposta be.
