The last few digitatas that I have gotten seem to do this. Polyp retraction in an area that kind of spreads while at the same time the skin starts to look like it is alk burned.

I cannot seem to see any pests.

SG- 1.026
pH- 8.3-8.4
Alk- 6.9-7.3
Ca- 440
Mag- 1400
Temp- 78
NO3- 3-5ppm
PO4- 0.00 (via hanna, but I'm not running GFO. Just chaeto)

What's you're light like? Any algae issues? Mine retracts sometimes if I get Dinos on it, but never seen that issue unless something was physically touching it.

If the tissue damage is near the base I would take a real hard look for monti eating nudis. They can be very small. I lost all my digis and caps to those guys last year

Curious on light too. I've got a bubblegum in pretty high light that shows good PE and growth. However have a brown digi in low light that grows but has next to no PE. Made the adaptation in tank transfer today so we shall see

it's around 200 par in that location. 8 bulb ATI T5 with 2x 12" build my LED actinics on a 30x30x24" cube. I have acros in the same place that are thriving with excellent polyp extension.

NEVERMIND BOYS: WE FIGURED IT OUT.

Called it lol
You sure did. I'm not taking any drastic measures since I have few montipora. I dipped the digi and got the little **** off. Been checking every night with a flashlight and haven't seen another though I'm sure there are eggs. Worst case I'll pull all the montipora and go without for a few months.

My acros are in a really good place right now so I just don't want to disturb the tank.
