Hello,

In my tank I have a linespot flasher wrasse who went from hiding all day to now he bullies everyone in the tank except my yellow tang. Before he became aggressive my royal gramma was aggressive to new comers and after my tang that was with the gramma at the lfs went in he relaxed.

His tank mates are a green Coris wrasse, Hoeven's wrasse, super timid six line wrasse, yellow tang, royal gramma and a lyretail Anthias (female).

Do I need to quarantine him and re add him in a couple of days because that worked for my gramma when he was aggressive to new comers? Or do I need to find him a new tank to call home? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

With those tankmates he better enjoy his time at the top of th hierarchy. All those other wrasses have a reputation for being tough customers. I would say it will settle down and somebody else will take over in a relatively short time frame.

Do you think like a month or a couple of weeks? He's been in there for a month and a half. He was the first fish to go in after my gramma and black damsel with a yellow tail (forgot him in the list of fish above) were in the tank for 2 months. Everyone else is very peaceful with each other even the damsel when the linespot isn't following them and flaring his fins at them.

I can't say exactly how long it will take, but green coris, sixline, and even hoeven will all eventually exert their dominance over the linespot.

Hmm okay, maybe it's a size thing right now since the linespot is the biggest wrasse currently. I know my yellow tang keeps going up to my Hoeven's recently and holding out his side fin to the Hoeven to pick stuff off of it and then the tang chases away the linespot from the Hoeven's when the linespot picks on him

I have a Linespot that was aggressive until I got my Pylei. He has since been moved down a couple of places. No matter how hard you try, there's always going to be one in the crowd with wrasses.
