So after running fine for about a year my pump has stopped pumping out bubbles. I've taken it apart cleaned everything put it back together with no major change. It pushes some water and creates large bubbles but nothing like the foam it should be putting out. Any other tips/tricks to try to revive this thing? It is a TIA pump for a Cad Lights PLS 50.

Check the air inlet of the venturi
More than likely it is all plugged up
This is a common thing and needs to be included in routine cleaning :-)

I did that already. There was some salt buildup but I cleared it out and air flows through it freely. I checked the silencer too it is obstruction free all the way to the pump and the pump reacts when I cover the air inlet.

I'd tear it apart and try the pump alone. If it's running, then there is something obstructing your airflow.
Worst case, call CAD. If you get through to someone, they are usually very helpful.

Great screen name btw!

Yep reached out to them this morning and got an email a bit ago. Basically troubleshooting 101 stuff I've already done but same day response is pretty good. I've taken the whole thing apart a few times now and for the life of me I can't find any blockages. When I run it in a bucket it sounds like it's spinning fine no rattle or grinding. Just tried it alone in a bucket with fresh tubing no change.

This comes with no guarantee, but it worked for me.

I had a similar problem with an Atman pump with a mesh wheel. It was stalling.....not fully pumping a decent amount of foam. I purchased telfon washers (might have been nylon...can't remember....but in the drawers in the hardware isle), from HD and placed them on the shaft on the impeller side....used either two or three. This cured my problem. My guess is that the mesh was rubbing against the front plate causing the pump to drag and stall. But that's just a guess. Anyway, it worked for me.

I also love your avitar and name......but I'm feeling like someone is reading my lips and about to throw me out the door!

Could you force air into the inlet to see if it helps? (thoughts of the movie Airplane just entered my head! Otto Pilot) it would also tell you if the tubing is loose or clogged.

Their skimmers (others too) are quite sensitive to water level in the column. How deep is the sump or compartment? If I'm not mistaken, that skimmer is good in 4-6". I have it's bigger brother and it's very sensitive to depth.

It was running fine I went to a meeting and came back and there were no bubbles. The skimmer can pull out good stuff but wow is it hard to set and every time you empty it you have to set it again. I'm not super happy with it but I'd rather not replace it if I don't need to.
