Proud owner of a RedSeaReefer 350 which has a small clam, several acan colonies, some zoathids, a bubble tip. I run zeovit in my system and also dose BRS's 2 part... I have a clown fish, a tang and a couple other small fish

I dose approximately 145 ml for Alk and almost 193 ml for Calcium a day, run twice an hour for 3 mins for ALK and 4 mins for CAL. I used to run them for the same time/amount but my alk stayed steady and calcium was dropping - it is dosed in my sump in a high flow area and also included an aeration stone in that area to ensure it is quickly dissipated.

The issues I am encountering is it is very hard for me to maintain calcium... it is right around 380-390 and I feel like I am dosing a lot for not a big load? My alk is around 8.4. And I continuously have issues with high PH that I am trying to compensate by dosing vinegar.

Please help with any thoughts on what I can do to correct this

I doubt the pH is really high. What did you measure?

What salt mix and salinity for water changes?

Thanks for the reply Randy. I guess I should have included the ph range which is close to 8.6. I use Red Sea coral salt mix with a salinity of 1.025

Do you think the calc and alk dosing amounts are high?

I suspect that pH may be in error. How did you measure it and when did you last calibrate?

I currently use the seneye monitoring device

I expect it is error. A couple of days ago, someone had a seastar on it that caused a false high reading. lol
