It Came From The Rocks!?!

So last night I was peering into my tank after lights out with a dim light to check on my nassarius snails, and look for a hitchhiking pistol shrimp.

And suddenly, this... Thing darted out of the rock and back in, so I don't have a picture but I'll try to describe it.

It was maybe 1cm long, 5mm tall, 5mm wide, sort of teardrop shaped with an unknown number of legs. A pale white colour. I didn't notice any appendages or antenna sticking out.

Any ideas as to what sort of satanic hellspawn emerged from my rock?

Did its body come fully out into the open?
only thing description makes me think of is an Isopod of some sort

Sounds like some sort of pod but without a pic kinda hard to say. I’d sleep with one eye open if I were you.

I don't think I'll be able to get a picture, I saw it for a total of 3 seconds. It did completely leave the rock. I Googled isopods, and it could very well be one.

I dearly hope if it is, it's not one that grows into a chihuahua sized monstrosity.

Or an amphipod, Gammarid amphipods are common. Look them up?

Very close. Close enough I'd be willing to bet $2.00 that's exactly what it is.

No matter what, it creeped me out and I hope it gets eaten.
