Noticed these little polyp looking things at the base of the candy cane this evening. Only had it for a day to begin with.

Clove polyps and they’re beauties

There is a distinct resemblance. The candy cane they're on is planted as an island in the sane, do you think they'll overtake the candy cane or spread over the sand?

You may like them now but they can spread and cover lots of stuff like zoas.

Spread and mine are around zoas and euphylia with no issues

That wouldn't take long. 2 gallon tank, lol. How do I control them?
At this stage, you can pluck them off. Make sure to get the base of it or it can grow back. Some people like to keep clavularia/clove polyps. Could give away I’m sure.

Looks like gsp to me. Is there any purple mat under them?

Either way should b easy to scrape off and mount to a plug or rock.
