Sad day today. I have a pair of flame wrasse for the last three years. For the last couple of months the female had started its transformation into a male. It’s started to become more aggressive against the super male flame. I came home today from work and I found the super-male dead [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]. It was a beautiful fish.

Bummer.

To be honest, I didn't realize two of the same species would last together that long.

Sorry for your loss. Pairing wrasses is not very good idea long term. Next time if you want to try again go with leopard wrasses.

It’s probably a silly question. If you already have an established pair, consisting of of a dominant male and a female partner, why would the other female wrasse need to turn male?
I’d like a pair myself. They are beautiful.

Awesome. Silver lining. That didn't take long.
