Hi, I recently introduced a new clown into my tank about five days ago. My LFS was nice enough to hold him in QT and treat him with prazi and cupramine for two weeks since I don't have a qt setup yet. I noticed what I think is a recessed or receding gut today. I looked online but all I could find were posts about engorged abdomens or pregnant fish, nothing about a receding. I would like to know if this is a known issue in clowns or if there is cause for concern. I've already lost a jumper and a sick clown, and I don't want another one to go too. In terms of behavior, he is getting along with a larger clown in the tank, is very active, and is eating the new life spectrum pellets very well. My salinity is 1.026, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite/ate. Only current issue in my tank is a bacterial bloom that has been clouding the water for about 3 days. Here's the most decent cell pic I could snap, sorry of shoddy quality in advanced. Could be he wasn't eating at lfs. He looks ok to me... as long as he's acting normal and eating he should be ok. Get your own qt tank set up for the future...
2 weeks is not long enough. I would just watch him and make sure he keeps eating.

Yes, will do. Yeah I can tell that he's significantly thinner than my other one. But has been eating well for past 5 days.

I did see him poop 2 days ago (yes, I've been watching very closely) and it was white, but more pellet-y, not stringy.

Is stringy bad? The other "healthy" one has a mix of compact and stringy poop.

White and stringy suggest intestinal worms which would explain him being skinny despite eating well. Without it though, I'd say I see nothing in the pictures wrong with him. Just give him lots of good quality foods and fatten him up.
