I have kept 3 total. I find a nice quarantine set up is the best bet to get them to eat.

Pvc pipe 1/2 to an inch. Several inches in length to offer security. Dim room lights, tank lights brighter than room lights. Be ready to offer several kinds of food.
4'Tank works well to keep them from being cramped.

My 3 ribbons all ate frozen shrimp as a first meal. Live ghost shrimp to entice further feedings. Red shiny fish are very attractive to them.

Added thoughts from friends when I got my current ribbon, food on skewer to mimic live movement. She was hungry, i could tell. So, i did everything i could. I cant recall if she ate day one, or the next... I let her eat whatever she wanted for the first week.

Ribbons, by time you get one have gone 2 weeks to a month with no food.

Psst, mine currently eats tdo pellets now as well...
