Good Evening everyone,

I am looking for some help on a neglected tank. All of the live rock is covered with what I think is an algae, the attached photos show a couple of different examples.

I'm hoping someone can help point me in the direction of what I can do to help deal with this. Ideas of what should be added to consume and clean it up?

Thanks!

I would
1) do a wc (on the larger side, maybe 40%+)
2) Pick up some snails
3) Test to lower po4 and no3
Let me know if there’s anything else I might have missed!

I would of said general GHA but it's getting to that stage, is that 'pumpkin pie zoa' that's being overrun?
Realitivly small tank, you could possibly clean this up in about 2 hours with the right equipment and dedication to do it

Your at the very early stages of 'GHA'
From the pictures provided. All the algae growth is very light and at this stage 'THE EASIEST/BEST TIME TO REMOVE'
Get your hands in and scrubb it all, looks likes your zoas are being suffocated by this algae but can be salvaged and hopefully restored.
It's generally/ genuinely down to you to sort this easily.
Just my thoughts and opinions
;)

Thanks for the replies!

1. I've done 3 40% WCs, once a week for the past 3 weeks.
2. Scrubbed alot off during the last WC. I bought a fresh scrub brush from Target, maybe need a stiffer bristle?
3. Any type of snail in particular? my banded trochus are more interested in the glass than the rocks.
