Finally shot this thing today. Now Gary can vouch for this one. He had a few frags of what he was calling a rare yellow tenuis all of two years ago up for sale. Being the kind of die hard that jumps at any "rare" or "oddball" acro, and any opportunity to add more yellow to the collection, I bought one glued it to one of Gooches' frag tiles and have been growing it out ever since. Convinced thats its a "slimer" rather than a tenuis, Gary's Yellow was about as fitting a name as I could ever give this thing.

We all know yellow is a tough color in the world of sps. More often than not "yellow" is actually a real light green or something close to it but just not quite there. Enter blue leds and the yellow is further camouflaged. This guy hovers nicely between wanna be yellow and " what the?!! That is a yellow freakin stick!"

These was shot under radiums and I did everything I could to preserve the actual look of this thing in the pics. The polyps and upper coralite tips are greener for sure but the majority of the body gleans yellow. And I have to confess that I have had this colony under leds since November coming from iwasaki 65ks and its lost just a touch of brilliance during the transition. I believe it is coming back though.

I have thrown a few teasers in recent frag packs but it's finally officially going on the site this week.

1000.00 for the first two frags...... then your looking at 1500.00 a frag after that :wof::wof::wof::wof::wof::wof::wof:.

nah Jk:laugh: thinking 75.00 tops

So that is why my frag pack was so expensive, lol, oh wait maybe it was all the SPS I crammed in it...I saw this thing in person and I must say it glows yellow under all blues, I honestly didn't even see the hints of green that you can see in the photos. Definitely a great coral to add to your tank.

One of the few that have actually seen it in person. And got one too! That pack was insane man. I'll be looking forward to some tank shots in a year or two:)

Save me a frag for sure Adam! Slow or faster grower? It definitely looks like it needs a lot of space to encrust.

Will do Wayne. anytime. It definitely spent a lot of time encrusting before it took off.. There was a bit more to the colony though. The white end you see in the pic was a larger cluster I cut off for my backup system.

Im going with slimer as well! I gotta teach my wife coral species when she helps me name them. I gotta blame it on someone... Its good to still see it going. Ill have to check to see if I still have the colony and see if we are getting the same color over such a long period of time. Looks good.

Trust me Gary she's probably still better than me. The only reason I think this ones a slimer is because it slimes up like crazy. Otherwise I am just plain terrible at iding acros. Its not even funny. Early on it definitely looked like a yellow tenuis though. I think it even had some blue in the tips if I recall. I couldn't pull that back out unfortunately but the potential is there.

I'm pretty good at species just horrible with coming up with names. Everyone wants a name on a coral, appearance seems to mean little with a cool name...

It is very cool, I think it looks like acropora samoensis...but you guys have forgotten more acropora species then I will ever know.

Whatever it is, it is very nice and unique.

PS I wish there was a way to like or rep posts, there is a couple in here that I think are spot on.
