..wait wait wait.. use a power head on the corals every day... That will keep the AEFW containted on there own.. It's what i've been doing for the past 6 months or so (well weekly not daily).

Definately psyched to see whats up with this stuff. Everytime i've found any sign of flatworms ive just fragged off the healthy section and tossed infected aread and all areas near it in the trash. it really sucks seeing a years worth of growth disappear to these little buggers!

My bottle came and made first dose.....wait and see.....I will post observations.....

hope this works I know how it feels loosing the hole tank by this buggers

It is actually supposed to make all acros more like the green slimer. That being they increase the mucus production, and supposedly the aefw have greater difficulty getting to the true flesh of the coral. My understanding is that you will be dosing 1 ml/25gallons daily for 3 months. I believe that the aefw are supposed to starve out in the time. I will be curious to hear about people results too.

it all sounds good in theory but I want to see some results first...hopefully it's not more snake oil

This is problematic because the green slimer is not immune to the AEFW. Hopefully it would make all acros more like A. Tortusa which seems to be highly resistant (if not completely resistant).

Its been a week. Corals look good and healthy, but way too early to tell. I will say this, I did cut back on dosing the other zeo products I usually dose as recommended by Phol himself. I believe the concern is too many nutrients. I have not heard anything about increasing mucus, but the few specimens that are heavy slimmers are some of the healthiest corals I have.

It's really going to take a solid month or two to see if this stuff helps. I also added a tamarin wrasse about two weeks ago (he is an awesome wrasse - very mellow and constantly working the rocks and bases of corals). And I hope to toss in a melanarus wrasse later this week.

Where did you buy it? I think I'm going to cave and just toss out the coin. As my tank has been growing it's getting harder and harder to reach every nook and cranny with a mj1200 or my turkey baster.

I pre-ordered 2 bottle from Premium Aquatics but they have yet to get it in. I will still need a 3rd bottle to do 3 months worth.
I hope this works as well.
I have killed many a large colonies but now only see a flatworm every now and then.

I would buy a few wrasses, and accilmate them at the same time, and just let them have roam of the tank and don't feed. amphipods, flatworms, and pods will be gone

Wrasses can't get to anywhere you can't get with a trukey baster, and I already have 3. They help some but when you have a lot of tabling/platting corals you can't get to the under side of them

Flatworm stop week 3

Ok, so just some background info...I had a few (like 2 to 3) mini colonies that had aefw. I have been aggressively dipping every SPS piece with coral RX.

I have the following wrasses to attempt to control the worm population in my 180: tamarin yellow tail, black spotted leopard, melanarus, and a four line.

I had few pieces that for other reasons (non aefw related) were bugged out in some way and either stn, bleached, stung by another sps, etc...

So, I cut back the dosage of everything (I dose Phols extra/extra special, sponge power, pocci glow(this I stopped totally this week - stuff is super strong!), and dosed about 5ml of k balanceanne 5-10 ml of flatwormstop. Still do regular dose of iodine, aminos, and roti feast 2x per week.

So far Zero signs of aefw. But more surprisingly, All of the other sps pieces that had other ailments, are looking better than ever.

I had put a Millie colony in that you could tell took a little beating during shipping....the thing is a beast now, rivaling anything in my tank. Some other pieces that had more severe ailments are recovering very well. I had mini colony of ora German blue acro that I had dipped and when I took the turkey baster to it, I blew off a significant amount damaged tissue, probably lost 65 percent of the piece. You can see the new tissue growing over the damaged bare skeleton now. And I don't think it would have recovered so quickly on its own. I started dosing the stuff and two weeks into it you can see the difference.

So, while its hard to say if the stuff got rid of the aefw because I am pretty agressive in dipping, cutting clean stubs and tossing the rest, the stuff no doubt has a healing/strengthening quality. I also suspect in another few weeks I will be talking about how everything is coloring up too as I can see this taking place.

Obviously don't have a clue what's in the stuff. Smells like vinegar. But does not add to my nutrients or phosphastes to my system or throw the other parameters out of whack.

I run bio pelllets, carbon, and PO4 X 4, and dose mb7 zeo back. Use ESV salt, and change 25 gallons every two weeks. Nitrates are less than 2ppm and phosphates are, undetectable.

My lfs, aoa in long beach just got a bunch of this stuff in. I dont have aefw but from reading what arobart posted, i'm planning on getting a bottle for myself.

Got mine today. Added 3.5ml and all my AEFW instantly died started floating around the tank and were eaten by my fish.. LOL Jk..

I do believe however that I did see a rather usually increase in PE since I already have rather good PE for a short period of time. Tomorrow when I dose. I will take a pic before, then take a pic 10 mins later to see if it was just in my head or PE really did improve. As neat as that is. The real test is the AEFW down the road. I found a fair sized batch a couple days ago.. I keep blasting/basting but I'm doubtful I got them all just yet. So if after 3 months they are gone. I will be a happy camper. Here is to Day 1!
