It's Just a Tank

I would like to have good news, but this maybe bad. Now, for those who know torches well. Some advice please?
Most heads here are doing very well. Keep in mind I do not have a dremel, I can go get one if called for. That would be later today.
I hate moving torches, it ticks them off to no end. Most of the torch looks good. 1 splitting head, looks awful.
The thing about splitting heads, as they tear flesh, they look terrible. I only had this piece for a few days now, I wouldn't see the head wanting to work on the split from moving tanks. I have no idea. Usually between 1 to 6 months with lps they settle in and resume growing. My experience.

Is that a pectina in the pic behind the torch? If so they could be fighting at night and the torch is staying closed up.

As you guys know pectina sweepers can get 10+ inches.

If the head is splitting, here is what I have learned. They look like crap, but as long as the tents are out some and the skeleton underneath is not showing all the time, they are fine. Lets also ask the resident torch head. @MERKEY your thoughts on the head with not much PE.

I agree when splitting they can look like poo poo and especially when splitting in the final flesh area towards the end of a split thay can look almost like they have torn.

If the pectina is really too far away then light and flow may be an issue.

Once colonies get to a certain size some heads just get shaded and lose the best flow area due to growth pattern.

At the top of rocks center or just off center in the tank is the best place I've found for large colonies that need 360 flow and light.

It's also getting used to your tank so you may need to move it a couple times before it finds a happy spot.

I know, I know, it's bad to move coral. BUT this is a larger piece and you need to find the right spot for it.

There are other heads closer to the pectinia, here's a pic of the distance.
The flesh base looks great still. There is a lot there. I just thought maybe too soon for it to work on splitting.

It was pretty extended on the original spot. However, my white belly wrasse is kicking sand up on the bottom coral. Elevated the torch for a bit of protection. That's when those 2 heads threw a fit.

Give it a little time there and see if those heads get used to it.

If they stay that way all day I'd try to move it either back to where either was when it was open or a similar area.

TY, you've offered advice on my last 2 deaths. Those were a different scenario. This piece came from Franks, completely happy and healthy. It took me to tick em off.

I don't know how you feel about GSP personally. You might really be willing to burn a house down, or just say. It has to go and not really care. Torches are equivalent of the house being burnt down.
But, I still have my overly colorful flatworm (@Lost in the Sauce )!! I wont cry until it dies.

Eli had 4 chunks of salmon this morning. She wouldn't leave me alone while I was recovering a frag from my urchin. So, I fed her this morning. I didn't want to get bit.
