It's Just a Tank

Everybody had to eat this morning. Hammer is intent to kill the shroom.
Eli has been investigating the k ew rock arrangement. Dinos are spotty, a spit here, a spot there. Manually removing after everyones done getting their food down.
You wouldn't believe how quick these mussas get a pile of mysis gulped down.

I want more plate coral. The one i have has eaten once per day. Whatever food falls on it. Wrasse wont even try to steal from it.

Eli stole the trachys breakfast. I wish i got that on camera...

Anyhow, when i first moved the trachy, i picked her up wrong and pinched her left side. Shes recovering thankfully.
That Micromussa is nice! Really a cool color.

All my corals eat for a qtr on $5 bag of Mrs wages. I dose ~135ml/hr kalk. I use my kalk stirrer - just feed it RODI.

Yuh, pickling lime is the exact same as kalk. Still easier to call it kalk though.

Sad part is, still misses some trace elements.

I could try a few months of kalk with no afr and see if corals lose their color. Right now, some are kind of lacking. So, I wonder.

AFR clogged the dosing line with a bunch of crystals. Soaked the hose and connectors in vinegar to flush that crud out. Going to start running the lines once a month to clean the tubes.

Dinos, 2 spots this morning. Got that syphoned out and it's looking clean.

This shrooms getting hurt and is removing part of her foot. Probably to fight the hammer.

Thinking about making a planted molly tank. I am tired of buying mollies at $5 each and Eli wont eat black mollies....

I just need to figure out where I want to put it.
The 1 gal is really small, I have the 3g for my dwarf seahorses. I have both. And I did use the smaller one for a single molly I couldn't sacrifice for a while before I caved and set up a Betta tank and now survivor molly is chillin in there.

I am looking at 14g or 35g. 60g would be a waste on mollies.

Mollies are active swimmers who need a 300gallon minimum!!

Oh whoops I guess I’ve spent too much time on the stocking thread. It’s driven me mad.
It will and does. You want crazy? Talk about tank size recommendations and quarantine. I've learned to avoid both. Obviously, I have a clown tang in a 112g.

I am sure a molly would just love hanging out in the corner of a 300g tank too!

had the 14. wasn't a bad footprint. got nervous about the silicone though, could hear glass scraping when I moved it; no issues though.
Not the best tanks. But cheap enough and i liked the way they looked in the store. Nice little corner tank. But, it's a matter of finding a spot for it. The 5 yr old .... He bounces all over the place and runs into things.

that does complicate things. shelf on top of the tank?

Very interesting find this morning. Unknown crab who has been in my tank since the day my KP rock arrived.
I can not contribute any loss of life (fish or coral) to the crab. It is definitely a scavenger and probably opportunist. I guess, it gets to stay. Maybe I can build trust with it now it knows I've seen it.

All emerald crabs are still in the tank and haven't destroyed anything. The male emerald has disappointed me.
