My husband works installing cable and his coworker is color blind. He told my husband, he just guesses which wires are the colors and does trial by error.

If data cable, it can be done. (As in cat5 or better). One of my best techs is color blind and never misses a beat of fails a fluke dtx. Each pair has a different twist. Due to this, he uses the twists to id the colors and goes from there.

I shun no one for being ambidextrous. It amazes everyone.
My mom in law could go on for days talking about her dad in law. Same history as you. Except he was irish. Not jewish.

His sister was a nun. I think they were catholic. She never got full details. He didn't like to talk about it. Lots of sad stories. Mind you my mom in law is 70. So, her in laws had it tough.
