It's Just a Tank

forgiveness is sometimes easier than permission.
Sometimes.
I still ask. Even if I want to impulse.
But, if something odd and weird shows up that I know I wont see again in a long time, or haven't seen in ages.... I cannot be trusted.

you both got me wondering if i miss saw the lemon peel... I was sure it was an angel... I'll go back and check this weekend. You never know, I could have been fooled.. Still possitive it was an angel though.

I'm surprised the lemon peel (chocolate) tang is on the smaller side of the acanthurus species....

The eyes are the way to tell. Blue eye liner or eye shadow or something... I don't wear makeup, sorry.

I'm really going to look next time, would explain the health if it's a tang and not an angel...

Waiting on mushrooms to settle in.
I'm thinking seriously bleached...

So... found an extremely interesting article on killing pest flatworms. I could try flatworm exit... but I have an eel.

I did this without dosing anything. Left my fuge light on 24/7 and my macro destroyed the po4. Took 4 days. No more flat worms. Waited 2 days then dosed po4 back where I wanted it none since.

So, your fuge killed your flatworms? Am i reading this correctly?

Thing is, i don't know the species. These are what I'd say right now, hatchlings. Tomorrow when its more day out and lights are in, im going to try to siphon some and see if fw exit kills them and if the peroxide solution will stun them.

Yes correct. I bottomed out my PO4 by simply running my fuge lights 24/7 for 4 days. Left it at basically 0 for a couple days and then raised it back to where I wanted it.

Interesting. Trying to figure out why they died from that. I know several species eat podlings. Like ghost flatworms and red planaria.
Aefw, i dont think would be effected by 0 phosphates. The ones i have are currently translucent. Like scotch tape.

I had red planaria. They are photosynthetic and require high levels of po4 in order to reproduce.

45 minutes..
I'll check if they're dead. 1 drop of fwexit in a gallon bucket of tank water. Added that to a container to monitor these things. They're unhappy, doesn't mean they'll die.
Like I said, super small. Out of tank, they're very brown.

Those are the non-coral eaters but they multiply quickly and can smother stuff?

No, I don't have a magnifier. They are so tiny,

Probably, 3 died, 2 struggeling. I upped the dose to 1.5. Difficult to do, but 1.5 drops per gallon to see if the other 2 perish.

Added 3 more to a 1.5 drop mix.

Yep planaria. In my other tank when I got them I did triple dose in tank every other day for 7 treatments. That was effective.
