As we have arrived at the summer months, we get busy outdoors and with the kids home from school, become occupied with new activities.

Do you find yourself during the summer months spending more time or less time with the tank?
If less time, what are your priorities at minimum to compensate for your absence from the tank?

Mine are maintaining good temperature, auto feeder, keeping an eye on salinity due to more potential evaporation and keeping ATO reservoir topped off.

I'm on vacation right now so I guess less time. But I'm not happy about it lol. I check in on it every day.

It can be stressful when away but we often wait a long time planning event sand are away from our tank for a short period of time

Ah, summer! The season of green tanks. :grinning-squinting-face:
I don't have any other hobbies or toys, nor do I travel, so my tanks stay maintained. I regularly pester those in my local fb group about keeping their tanks clean and testing.

I voted "other" because normally I spend less time on the tank in the summer because gardening and yard work take precedence. I keep up with weekly water changes but pruning macroalgae and removing bubble algae usually gets done a lot less. Also any testing is about none existent in the summer.

However this year my hubby and I are going on a 23 day motorcycle roadtrip to Alaska, so the tank has been getting a lot of attention for the last several months as I try to prepare it to run nearly automously while we are away. I do have my sister and son coming over one time a week each to give the fish frozen food and to look things over. I have spent a lot more time than normal on the tank for this time of year. Hopefully it pays off with a healthy tank when we get home the middle of July!

Believe it or not both nanos are looking good at the moment no problems . Water changes once a week and fill my top up tubs with ro . Yes things are going good for now lol

Still manage to work and find time for everything. And hey this is Florida and other than a few weeks it's always summer except for the more extreme temps in actual summer months. My only real problems were heat and associated diatom & algae blooms. Between replacing my whole AC and ducts and finally buying a chiller got that covered now with a much more stable tank. I also learned early on my original MH/T5 setup was a no go for heat in the summer months and went LED. Evaporation is pretty constant, so I always have probably a months' worth on hand.
