The last couple days I've been seeing this phenomenon. They don't seem to be air bubbles or sand. The pumps are submerged and there's no air in the system. Anyone have ideas as to what this is? It seems it'd be easy to figure out, but after watching my Vectra pump and all water movement, I can't figure what it is.

Agreed post parameters and dosing sounds like precipitation.

If cal alk or mag are off u will see this effect in tanks sometimes will look as if micro bubbles or particles of sand would diffently check perimeters

You know how when your car makes a funny sound and you bring it to the mechanic and that sound magically stops and you look stupid ? Saying "no I swear it was making a noise!!"
All my numbers are fine and the snow's gone. I kept trying to shoot better video all last night and this morning.... chirp.... chirp.... nothing.

Does it appear at the about the same time each day? Does it correspond to when additives are being introduced? I had a pump that would, on occasion, vertex and create microbubbles at certain times of the day. I also realized that I was not allowing enough time between my dosing pumps kicking on for the additive to disperse before the next was being added. Just some things to look at.

What test kit are you using? I would say it's calcium fall out...i know that some are very inaccurate take example Red Sea salifert when I test the exact same tank with both I get different numbers, what I end up doing is averaging them out. Just food for thought run a sample to your lfs and see what they come up

Maybe its a spawn? GSP? I have had GSP spawn in my tank and it looks like this...

Recently I have been having my blue clove polyps spawn. They leave a snow type stuff in the water column for a few days.

I use the RedSea Foundation Pro. I hadn't considered trying a different test kit, but I'll keep that in mind should it occur again. Thanks!

Interesting thought! I do have a couple large GSP colonies and a clove polyp colony. I kinda wish it would happen again so I can nail this down.

Everything in my tank, without exception, is doing phenomenally well. If calcium was too high wouldn't things be showing sign of trouble?
