Ivan's pico reef!

Looking GREAT!! Can you give us an update on this beautiful reef @Iván Olalla?
Thanks a lot! I'm currently traveling un Southamerica, i left the tank in charge of the controller and a coworker with the feeding schedule, hopefully next monday i'll be be back and post some pictures, after a proper and delayed water change

Long time due update. The pico reef is now a year old and seems a little more mature. Since i've been traveling a lot it suffered some negligence from muy part. I've had some losses (Fish and coral) which caused some spikes, but now stability is almost reached and i think it reflects on the reef now.
I'm setting up the big tank again, i'll open a build thread for it later.
Happy reefing!
Regards, Ivan

Wow, it looks nice Ivan!

Beautiful tank! I’m setting up something similar.
Question for you, how did you mount the a80 so low to the water? Are you using the Kessil gooseneck or something else? Because I’m using the a80 on my tank and would like it be further down to the water if possible

Yes i used the kessil gooseneck, but since the corals grew i got some shadowing on the low part of the tank, so i changed the light and mounted it 8" above water. I´m using now the Lumini Pixie 30 and all has responded well, no more shadowing. The kessil has a great spectrum but if it´s mounted in a decent height for coverage it looses penetration IMO

the new light fixture Pixie 30 Lumini, cheaper than the kessil, good spectrum and cob LED array for the shimmer effect!
Almost went back to the AI but the Pixie is a fanless design which suites my noise needs, so far a great little fixture rated 30w

How has the tank progressed since switching out lights?
I ran low percentage numbers the first 2/3 weeks, right now the little light is running 100% on all channels....amazing zoa growth and the BTA split twice, the one in the photo is a little sister of the original which i traded, so overall very happy with the "cheaper" upgrade lol
