I think I've done it and actually managed to kill my GSP. It was doing well coming out well under lights, then suddenly for the last 4 days nothing. There appears to be a few poylps out but they look dead, like very fine thread no meat on the bones as such. I suppose there's not much i can do if its dead its dead.

What I'm wondering is how I did it the only thing I can think of is, when I was pouring in new water got it. With out really thinking I poured my water in above it, this water was prob colder and definitely higher salinity 1.025 vs 1.023 in the tank (i'm trying to creep it back up). Would this have done it. Everything else seems fine

What size is your tank? And how much colder was the water?

The tank is approx 2 months, I use pre-made water from my local shop. My shop has been testing the water and all is ok, also everything in the tank seems healthy no excess algae etc

If the purple matting is still intact, it could just be shedding or "taking a nap" I've had that stuff do that for weeks at a time.

I think I found the issue,my nass snails were crawling over it. I gave it a wash in the power head and re positioned it and had some extension last night.
