I had good luck with a thalasoma Quinquevittatum. Annihilated all my bristle worms over night. Your tank might take a few weeks... lol

I like bristle worms well enough. They're good members of CUC... but when I saw all these Saturday night after lights out, I decided I needed to do something...

These pics are just a small sample. They literally were covering every square inch of rock and sand I've got.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. Suggestions??

Turkey baster works just as well. Catch them at night. I tend to pull these out once I see too many or they’re too large.

My bicolor goatfish is still a juvenile... at about 4" long, and growing like a weed. I've seen adults a foot long, though that's rare. Average is probably 7" or so.

I don't believe I'd put one in a 50g tank.

Traps work ok but you have to empty them often with that many BWs. I had similar and it is not pretty when you pull them out - they smell worse than death. I opted for 6 line wrasse and he cut the population down in days. Others claim 6 lines can be brutes in a tank - mine is doing ok, leaves everything else alone.

My six line Wrasse is a dream. He was the first fish in and keeps to himself. I hope he’s keeping my BWs in check cause that’s just gross. Ewwww...

That would probably explain my rather fat 6 line and non existent bristleworm population...also my 6 line has twice taken too bullying once with a blue chromis and once with my snowflake clown ...he would constantly chase them ...recently hes been a model citizen and now bothers no one ...

I'd pick the emptying the trap every day option. With as many as he has, it qualifies as nutrient export.
