Iwaki pump noice. Can this be repaired or corrected?

My wife asked me to reduce the noise from my 125 gallon reef!! I have an Iwaki 40RT Japanese pump. After 15 years of service (the pump not my wife, jeje) I think that she is wright! Just finished installing a cheap Hydor pump and is dead silent!! Here is a video and a photo of the pump. I see there are some cracks inside the pump and just listen to the sound. Is that the fan? Can I repair this pump?

A lot of pumps will be that loud out of water. If it's that loud in water, then yes, something is messed up. I doubt you can get parts, but you can always ask Mr. Google.

Does anyone know where I can get an Iwaki MD 30RXT 115NL serviced in South Florida (Miami and/or Kendall)? It's making that horrible screeching sound which I'm pretty sure it's the motor bearings. Is this something I can fix myself?

First of all, what is shown in the picture and video is not the impeller. Flaws in the rotating magnetic base were probably always there and likely no big deal. Bearings sound fine. Fan cooled, external pumps are not quiet regardless of operating condition. You trade off a bit of noise for 15-20 years of reliable service. Possibly the fan is hitting the enclosure. I'd reseat the fan.

After listening to the sound again, it could be the fan.
The only way to tell is to look for witness marks that the fan truly is hitting the cover.
