OK.....Yes, I can't wait until my big tank goes up. I want something now! I've looked into what I want and did some reading so I know what I'm getting into generally. What I need are recommendations on what to do tank wise. I'm willing (and prefer) to just get the parts and go. UNLESS, there is a good AIO that will fit the bill. I'm not that concerned with $$, so factor that out please. I want quality. 7 or 8 gallons is the goal. Thanks! J.

I think one of the first decisions on a tank that size is-are you going to try to have real filtration (filter sock, tiny skimmer, carbon, whatever) or completely forego filtration and just commit to 'big' water changes to manage water quality? If the former, you probably want to look at some of the AIO systems. If the latter, a simple 'glass box' may do.

One of my favorite tanks I ever had was my 5 gallon invert tank, I had a coral banded shrimp with some hermits and some snails, I had it for 2 years before I took it down, but now I really miss it. It had one powerhead in the tank, and I performed weekly water changes, very easy tank to maintain and guests coming always loved that coral banded shrimp. I tried a few corals but the CBS ate them, but I didn't mind, it was a fun tank for me.

I absolutely adore CBS's. Mine never did eat corals, but my 90 was a 'dirty' tank. They had food.

I saw them at RAP last weekend it’s pretty amazing how small those little systems are
