What are people’s experiences with this pump good or bad? I’m looking at this for a circulation pump for a IM Nuvo 10 but I’m still undecided. I know it is a good price but if it’s not going to last very long I may just get an Aquami kps. Thanks for any help.

Jebao's get a bad rap. Sure, they are inexpensive but they work. They may not last as long but after doing the math, if my Jebao's last half as long as some of the premium priced ones I still come out on top buying two sets of them. You will get bad apples in any pump you choose, big name or not.

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I was thinking. I know they are cheaper pumps and for the price I could buy two of them. I’m still switching back and forth between the Jabeo and the Aquami kps. I have used Hydor pumps on my planted tank and they have been good and as a company they stood behind there product which goes a long way for a consumer.

That is a thing with Jebao... ZERO customer support.

I use a sw-2. Great pump. Sometime when I turn it on it goes backwards, just turn it off and on again, or blast it with a turkey baster. You do have to clean it frequently.

Eh? Good resellers will support you, although I tend to buy mine direct from Fish Street. They have been responsive to questions and concerns for me. I still have all my old Jebao stuff. It all worked coming out of storage, which is more than I can say for the expensive and MP40 wet sides. I had to replace both!

I don’t have an SW-2 but I’ve had good luck with multiple gyre pumps (which are all still running) and two return pumps (both still running).
Edit: All Jebao pumps!

i have one and it works perfectly fine. never had an issue with it. I also had 2xPP-4, RW-8 and wp8 that came out back in 2013 and I have never had any issues with any of them.
they are very inexpensive. I think I paid $55 or less for any of the ones I have owned. Even if they would crap out after a year buy another. It would take 5 years if they broke every year to equal the cost of an MP10. I have an MP10 and I constantly regret buying it because of what it cost and what it actually does. Coulda purchased an SW8 or any of the 8 series units for less than $60 and had the same flow

Yes,They are great water pumps for flow.Don't get caught up in all the high dollar marketing in this hobby. Jabeo's sold for around $27 before they hit the US market. After all,it's just a hobby water pump.

I have only had mine for about 4 months so far but its been alright. I have 2 on opposite ends of my tank running alternating. I was very frustrated at first as they would never sync up completely but now i like that because of that problem, i get very turbulent flow that changes through out the day.

I clean them about once a month as the propellers seem to attract green dust algae

Been using Jebao pumps for years. I have owned more expensive and not been better off.

I will buy them every time now. The cost savings is a huge thing and their return pumps and my ow25s are silent.

I honestly wish they had an 0w25 equivalent with no controller. Just flat out speed.

Oh, and another thing, clean ALL pumps monthly. Not just these.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I will be ordering the Jabeo sw-2. If it last a year then so be it I can always order another and still be cheaper than the next option. Sometimes I need justification to spend more money even when I know what the right decision is. I clean my pumps on a monthly basis in my planted tank so nothing will be different with this one.
