Hi everyone! About a week ago I had to unexpectedly move, but this was the perfect excuse for a tank upgrade! I ordered a 22 Gallon Low Iron Rimless Glass Tank by Mr. Aqua! My older brother helped me build a tank stand and set up a sump as quickly as we could! My stand blueprints were put together by @sp1187 and are the only reason I could do any of this! Thank you to everyone who helped along the way!

For the DT, I run an AI Prime 16 HD on a 12 hour cycle as shown below

I also have a Jebao SLW-10 Compact WaveMaker running constantly on the “wave” function. Aside from these two pieces of equipment, there is a nano HOB overflow box, by Eshopps, and a PVC pipe used as a DIY return. The water from the return runs directly into the wavemaker, keeping it from stirring up and sand below. All of the equipment is on one side of the tank so that it can be a 270 degree view tank!! I will post pictures of each view when the lights turn on!

Edit: This had since been adjusted! They run from 8AM-8PM now at just about the same intensity as before with just a few moderate tweaks here and there

Down to the sump…

This picture was taken a couple of days ago to show the plumbing. The water runs down into a double layered Red Sea 225 Micron filter sock. The outer layer is filled about 3-4 with activated carbon, and the other sock sits on top to help trap larger particles. After this, it is run through the Red Sea Reef Octopus Classic-100 HOB protein skimmer. The sump is split into two sections, but only with live rock, and some ceramic cylinders. I have Red Ogo Macro Algae on the left side of the rock away from the protein skimmer. I also keep an ammonia reducing mesh bag of rocks (not sure if the brand) on the left side, just to be extra safe in case anything ever dies overnight or I over feed some ReefRoids! It then passes over to the right side, where the water is ran through an additional HOB MarineLand filter running activated carbon. From there, it is brought up through the return pump and back to the DT. The light I use for the sump is my old Fluval 3.0 Marine Light. It’s not very great, and I would never recommend it because it has 10W of power for $150 whereas AI 16 is 55W for $200. However, it keeps the ricordeas down there happy, and the bacteria/algae thriving.

Yesterday was the @ChaosAquaculture live sale and I got a couple of sweet deals! The first one is a Euphyllia Cristata! One of those corals that’s always forgotten about despite it being so beautiful and unique

They’re all supposed to be WYSIWYG, but the last pic is from November 28, 2019, so we will see!
