Will the wp25 run normal without the night sensor installed? I like running else mode but it was too strong so I bought a dimmer. After several weeks running like this I just noticed that the mode button does not change modes. In fact the different mode lights don't light up either. It seems to he running in the night sensor mode. About 40 percent constant current. I removed the sensor and have since lost it. Any ideas?

Yes, if you have the older controller they are notorious for going out. Mine did same thing removed sensor runs full power.

It's the controller with speed control. But it only controlled the speed in w1 mode.
I figured these pumps would be too good to be true.

Pumps rock and that's how they are designed to only control in W1. First pick is old one second is new.

The problem may be with your dimmer. If you are reducing the voltage below 12v it may affect the operation of the controller. I purchased one of these a week ago and it came with a variable voltage power pack from 12 to 24v. I use it in my RSM130D and have found that 15v gives the right speed for my size tank.
If you go to the suppliers web site i think you will find they replace the power adapter and the light sensor for older models.
At the moment I couldn't be happier with my WP25, including the operation of the light sensor.

When I had it working it was great. Tonight I disconnected the dimmer and still no modes available. I will try to find a new sensor and see if that works.
