Does anyone know if Jareds Rainbow milli and Jareds Tri color prostrata are one in the same?

I emailed him and never got a response.

My frag- sold as Jareds rainbow milli

Another pic I found on the web-

I would think not, why would he name the same coral twice? I would ask him again to see if he responds, maybe he renamed it later or something. Either way I would just choose one because they are probably very similar in the same tank. Your mother colony is beautiful man! I tried keeping the tricolor prostrata when they were coming in but they never faired well from shipping and were always priced too high because they looked so good. Most wouldn't stay looking that nice but I have seen a few cool pieces in peoples tanks.

I don't think "he" changed the name.............I'm asking if he had two different acros with those names. Or if reefers changed it over time and both are used.

I don't see either name on his site anymore so I'm guessing that's why no response. My frag was sold to me as Jareds Rainbow milli which he had in a pack back in 2015. I don't see anything recent.

I see, 2015 was when a lot of those cultured prostrata were coming in looking crazy nice too. I was hoping more of them would have been kept and cultured by hobbyists but I guess a lot of people had trouble with them like I did because I really never saw any in the past few years. I would guess they are two different pieces but maybe someone knows for sure what the deal is.

That's a beautiful piece. I wouldn't worry about the name game. Just get that coral to grow into a healthy, happy colony and you'll be able to sell frags of it nameless if you wanted.

I had a piece of his rainbow millepora in my old tank, and it was one of my favorites. I would love to get another piece one day...

any update on this? This looks like a really nice milli

Not much new to report......growth has been slow..........the plug is now encrusted and I see a green rim, followed by blue in the base. If the new new branches & growth tips are the same this will be a true rainbow.

Yeah, I'm not that worried about the name but was curious if there were two different rainbow corals that Jared was selling back then.......one a prostrata and the other being a milli.

Yeah I would be interested to see what it looks like now for you

They are not the same piece I had Jared’s rainbow and have spoken with Jared on a couple different occasions looking for his prostrata ( still looking hint hint) says he no longer has it and they’re different pieces.

Anyway you have a nice colony, it was a very slow grower for me -I got rid of it
