Jason Fox Blood Shot Zoo's

Randy,
Don't worry about that my friend.I had and ace in the hole.I scored also,no worries......Now these guys here where I live want it now also.....I'm still in the hunt for 2 other zoo's that has me drooling, like at your booth.I couldn't find these zoo's at MACNA.Now with all those frags down there, you would think I could find it.NOPE !

It a kind of paly where it looks better in person and not photos.

The Coral Morphologic palys are neat, and also very colorful, but not the same as the Bloodshots. They are more prone to melting than the Bloodshots/Turple Terrors as well. I have both, and like both, but the Bloodshots are larger and more impressive, though for the price difference I see nothing wrong with going with the Caribbean versions.

Here is an old crappy pic of mine. Need to get a better one.

Who knows, maybe Jason Fox bought his from CoralMorph and just colored them up. Different tanks and different lights will make any coral look different. Same with taking pictures. The reason why they are so pricey is they have some dudes name on them. Did he discover them or did he just like them so much he put his name in front of it? I hate to start this argument but its pretty silly. I dont mind named corals but who has the balls to call something their own when it really isnt, and who has the brains to believe it?

As I said, I have both the Bloodshots and several varieties of the "Lotus Eaters" palys from Coral Morph. Aside from the obvious color pattern similarities, they are obviously different. The Coral Morph palys are also smaller and melt easier. This is under the same lighting and in the same tank long term. It's not about Jason Fox or not, but they are sweet by any name.

but remember when Purple Hornets would melt on everyone? I hear Soprano's melt for pretty much everyone, but they are still super pricey (purple hornets are going down quite a bit though)

I agree its a sweet looking paly, im just stating that it shouldnt be as pricey, esp if the coralmorph's look so similar, like you said. Thats too much of a price difference just for the dudes name. Right?

edit: I dont want to clogg up this thread so if anyone wants to chime in i posted a thread over here

StafOs,
This is nothing new in this hobby about rename of certain corals.I've been in this hobby for 20 years now.And was heavy into the SPS scene. These acros were getting renamed all the time.To sell and make a buck or two.The biggest one was probably the Tyree Purple Monster.Everyone would buy one and said they had the true PM.The really PM has white polyps. And this went on for years.Just because a coral in one tank,it won't be the same in another. So they rename it.So you had to know what you were buying. That's why folks ask the question, where is the lineage to this coral.Because folks have gotten burned in the pass.I'm not standing up for JF in anyway. He has added a lot of new corals to the scene. And it's great what he has done for the hobby. But rename corals SPS/LPS,Zoo's you name it.It has happen for years. It's just something in this hobby we have to live with.I know it might not be right. But if calls it Bloodshot,Zoo's,what choice do we have.I'm sure his zoo's are the real deal.Knowing his reputation about getting corals, and how rare his corals are.I would trust in JF all the way,no doubts on my part.Great guy meet at Vic's place.WWC what a store.......

I picked up one of these famous frags in florida last month as well, i can tell you its one of the coolest polyps I've come across...........wish i could ever get a photo that does em any justice!! they really are cool.

I've had these over 2yrs ago maybe??? but were never sourced from Fox. I bought these through another collector back then labeled as True Water melons , Palys. before they started popping up on the internet and were re-named blood shots JFYI. Don't have em anymore due to the tank crash but I've kept them a hand full of times.
