Hi everyone, all of my acros look amazing and are generally healthy and growing. However for some reason my Jason fox flame isn’t a beautiful purple with bright yellow tips but more of a pink fleshy color with off yellow polyps. I thought it might be from shipping stress but I got another one locally and it literally looks the same. Does anyone have any ideas? Or is this how it looks under whiter lights

alk 8.5
Ca 450
Nitrates ~5ppm
Phosphates ~ .01
Reef Breeder photon v2 running blues at 95% everything else is in the 20-40% power range

I have one as well that isn't doing much other than basing out super slowly. I assumed it's just a slow grower and will take off eventually.

looks light burn or some sort of pest
So I was thinking pest potentially but I just got a second frag of it and it basically looks the same. You can see the coral is actually growing. It encrusted to the rock, it just looks terrible

When I lowered % on my 3 g5, this is one small colony that started to color up and grow. I’d suggest a par meter. I’m at about 280 and it’s looking much better compared to 400+.

ymmv

Thanks everyone, I actually probably gotta move it down then to a lower light spot cause it’s a high light spot there

Mine sits on the sand bed and red colors coming back.

I would leave it. Looks fine, just keep it under 350. Is that over 350 par there, looks low in tank already.

Just be patient. 350 par is fine. Seems to like full spectrum light. I think it looks way better too. Mine didn't get the yellow tips until it started to get bigger. Been keeping this one at around 400 par.

It can also lose color when it is stressed.
