Hi all,

I’ve had a jawbreaker for about 4 months that’s grown from dime size to bigger than a half dollar. The thing is, it’s still solid orange. Do other colors like red and green always grow in eventually, or is it possible to have it stay orange forever?

Thanks!

Have you seen the mother? I've seen JBs with only orange no additional color... Mine held it's orange color for months before showing a red stripe then a small blotch of purple... I felt like I got a good piece because I'd seen where the baby had come from.

Unfortunately not. Good lesson to learn for the future. Maybe it’ll just take more time for additional colors to show up. Here’s hoping!

Sometimes I see people post pics of what looks like whole colonies of JB where only a couple have red and not very much. Eclectus seem to be a more sure bet when getting more colors.

Darn. Good to know. When I picked this up I had the option of an eclectus, but it was so much more haha

Guess I’ll just keep my fingers crossed.
