A few questions about jawbreaker mushrooms with purple -

How rare are jawbreakers with purple?

I have a mama jawbreaker that is developing 2 purple spots. One is clearly a purple spot and the other is becoming more pronounced. This is a mature jawbreaker that did not have purple when I purchased it but developed purple later.

Are there strains that develop purple sooner with less age, or does purple typically take years to come in? From what I understand purple is the last cor to develop on mature JBs.

However there are mushrooms out there like Andre's ultimate (I know no purple) that have amazing coloration from the time they are very young.

Is any JB with pure considered a purple monster?

Please post a pic of your JB mushroom with purple if you are lucky enough to have one.

Thank you!

Here is mine. 2 mouths and the purple spot. Included pic of what it looked like in 2020 when I purchased it.

Looks good I'm also seeing some green in there. I think I've also seen Andres babies throw purples. I have one that morphed totally green. Some throw bubbles. Some take longer than others, some never throw crazy colors. Not sure why. The crazier the colors the more unique and the MOAR money they fetch I guess. You have a nice piece. Enjoy it will be cool to see what the babies do.

Purple is the holy grail color of jawbreakers. To reach purple, I believe shrooms need to be 5+ years old. I have some older than that with no purple yet so I guess a part of it is good genetics

Mine appeared to be fairly mature when I purchased it. Funny though as it has not produced any babies I see or have found however my candy crush has produced about 8 over a year. I think I might move the Mama JB closer to the edge of the shroom cage. It seems like my mushrooms in cages attack to the edges and make babies more frequently.

In my opinion JBs that only produce purple after a mature age (3yrs +) are not in the same category as purple monsters. Only way to determine if a JB can possibly be a "purple monster" is if its offspring produce purple at an early stage of maturity. Not claiming to have OG lineage but here are my 2 examples:

This 1 was nickel to quarter size when these shots were taken;
