I was able to pick up a RR JD 6 months back. It was a small frag and has grown nicely in my tank over the past few months. But for some reason it's just blue and staying blue. It's higher up in my tank, a 100g with 3 Radion G4 Pro's running the AB schedule at 65% intensity which equates to roughly 350-400 PAR where it is.

What do I need to do to pull any colors from this acro that resemble the online pics? Thoughts/suggestions?

Time. It's just not old enough yet.
Completely agree. It’s way too early to start trying to pull “awesome” colors. It looks fantastic and happy. Just keep doing what you’re doing and the colors will come later as the branches and tips form. It’s important to remember all these frags came from the tips, which are the most colorful part of the coral. That tip slowly evolves to be the new base to support the new growth.

Hi
My RRC jaw drop has with me around 4 months ( came from TSA) and when I received is was like green, now it has more like orange with yellow colors, but not blue on it and still is small frag.

pic?

If you want the strong red with blue polyps, then it needs super intense daylight and it is probably going to end up pink anyway. This is a really hard coral, IMO. I have one that is just grey but it does grow and another that is pinkish red with blue polyps - I have wondered before if they are truly the same coral or if one is a fake... I have no idea.

I didn’t hear you mention anything about nutrients and alk? That’s the whole game of sps color right there

All should be in the sweet spot...I have an Alkatronic + Reefbot + CaRx keeping my life in check =).

Alk: Stable 8
Calc: Stable 475
Mg: 1300
Phosphate: .05
Nitrate: ~5
Daily dosing of EasySPS food
Tropic Marin Pro salt

I was dosing Red Sea Trace A,B,C,D for awhile but ended up with very high Iodine at one point which I attributed back to that. So stopped doing that, but I have an AWC setup that changes in/out 2g/day, which is 30% bi-weekly, and that with ICP testing seems to be keeping trace elements in a good range.

All under 3 Radion Gen 4 Pro XR30's running AB at ~65% which puts the JD at around 400 PAR

But open to suggestions...!

Does my JD look like a legit JD though based on the colors and growth patterns? I hope I wasn’t taken!

I am pretty sure that I have a fake and a real one. It looks a lot like yours with the baby blues and it will not get reddish pink at all. It does not look like my other one that I know is legit. In the end, without the true lineage, then you just don't know - did the seller provide this?

The seller is adamant it’s legit but hasn’t shared lineage and based on coloration and rapid growth I’m doubtful. So I think I’m in the market for a proven JD if anyone has one to frag for me...

If the seller won't give you the lineage, post about them and then they either 1). will give the lineage, or 2). other people will know to stay away. This thing costs so much that nobody needs to be nice if they feel that they got jobbed.
