Hope everyone is doing well.

Has anyone else experienced this. I planned on having a Jawfish meaning I have all rocks directly on the bottom of the tank glass floor. I have one rock on a small platform of egg crate columns that allows a cave underneath. I'm going to say he, He may move around but always comes home to his hole. If I don't see him, my check to know everything is fine is observing the hole. Is it clean and tidy, then he is fine :)

Today I come home and there is a rubble piece (very small) in front of the door (pics to follow). I've never seen him close the door. I look between the rocks and see him behind the door, moving around watching with one eye through a small opening. He has one day to come out or I'm going in :)

Has anyone else experienced this?

He never ceases to amaze me. He also decides who can visit. There was an emerald crab coming out of the hole, and every time he got out, the Jawfish pulled him back in, lol.

interesting.Do you think it closed itself ? I'd leave him in there see what happens. Surely he can tunnel out .

Hey there, I believe he did it. That piece of rubble was off to the far side down hill away from the middle of the tank. Looking again I can see the drag marks, lol

They can do that mine did it once. We put the shell by it and he took it for a door

Morning, I moved the rock away from the opening and about two house later, after an evil eye, it was back , lol... They are something else..

Its pretty normal behaviour as it prevents anything else going in there at night. They do it when they have a decent burrow built and a supply of suitable building material. A friend had a trio of pearly jaws and they'd swap burrows and block the entrance to stop the others jaws nicking it's new digs.

One of the most entertaining fish you can get.

He is open for business again, with the vault door on standby :)
