About 1 week ago we got a tiger jawfish. We didn't see the jawfish much for the first few days but it's come out of hiding and its current tunnell opens by a rock up fromt and in the center od everything. I noticed it is now spitting food pellets at the other fish. Is this a friendly sign? Also our blue damsel just started picking up and moving rock she will pick one up at a time and dump it off to the side. Is this mimicing the jawfish or is there more going on? I don't remember seeing the damsel move rocks prior to having the jawfish. Thanks!

Here is a video that shows both the blue damsel picking up a shell and the jawfish trying to feed (I think) the other fish a algae pellet it found.

Idk about your fish, but when freshwater fish, especially goldfish, they dig through the gravel throughout the day. That is a sign of health, they digging and searching for food. And don't your underfeeding them, it's just a natural behavior for them to dig and pick for food.

Setting up territories to their liking. Not all fish behave this way, but a jawfish wiill as they suit their burrow to their liking, and damsels will as they are very site oriented and will will decorate to their liking as well.
