Is there way to get a jawfish to burrow in a certain area??

Yes and no.

You could use a plastic tube when you release it. It can then swim down the tube to the sand area of your choice.

But, more than likely it’ll move spots haha

Ok. I’ll try a pvc tube and some rubble around it. Maybe it will work??

You never know.

Ive only used that technique to release clowns and have them swim into an anemone haha

It depends on the Jaw, Some will stay in one place and some will make multiple burrows until one feels right. Id recommend making a little hole where you want him to burrow and release him by it and just hope for the best

I’ve tried to make a nice little home for it. Hopefully I can try to get it to live here. 1” pvc pipe with some rock wrong it. I will try to release him close and hope for the best.

So got my jaw fish today. Here’s a pic of the home I made for him.

I acclimatized him in the bag and then put him in a jar with black duck tape around it so he would only see the hole that I prepared. Took him a minute or two but he found his new home!!

not sure if he’ll stay there but it seemed to work!!
