My black cap seems to be a collector. I'm going to add more shells for him. I added a frag recently, no glue so I can move it around. I get up, and this joker had it in his hole. I moved it back, got some coffee, and he had it again, "mounted" in the hole. SO much personality to these fish :) Has anyone else experienced this?

Jawfish are the original frag collector. Gotta love their tank rebuilds!

They will use all the rubble you provide. I used to add a handful of shells and rocks every week.

I watched my yellowhead demolish and rebuild his entire den today, he stayed up well past his bed time to get it finished. He worked so hard. Watching him pile the rocks in one pile, sand in another and then carefully engineer the new structure was hilarious. He moved it about one inch, LOL.

I've added more shells and rubble several times, they are always in search of that next perfect piece of rubble

Mine would take shells rubble from me. He would even posture for me to get rubble for him. If he spotted a choice piece far away he would swim straight up a little from his burrow. Then he would stare at me & bob his head at the piece until I got it for him (dropped it outside his burrow).

My old yellowhead would grab anything in the tank that caught his eye. He'd even try to take things he had no business trying to move, like frags four times his size.
