Jaysushi's Cadlights Versa 42 Reef

Rimless ftw. I also have a Rimless and they look very nice.

@PCool I'm not too familiar with the converter kit. You don't need it. I used all the plumbing that it came with and so far it's been holding up nicely. The pipes were very easy to put together. Just snug them up together good and you're set to go! This is my very first tank where the sump is separate so at first it seemed a little confusing, but it actually isn't bad at all.

Thank you. If I need any help in the future when I decide to purchase Versa 42, would you mind if I can asking you?

@PCool Absolutely, it is my first Cadlights tank too. So I am still learning the tank as well, but if you have any questions feel free to ask away :)

Picked up my first pair of fish yesterday! I introduce to you my gold nugget maroon clownfish pair :D
I've never owned a pair of clowns before and I'm excited to see these two thrive!

@icedgxe If you do plan on buying one, I would highly consider it. It is a fantastic tank so far!
I'm saddened that I might have to get rid of my Gold Nuggets, they are bullying my other fish and one actually passed away :(

A little update! Did some coral placement on the rocks. Picked up a 10gal Trigger System's ATO reservoir
Also have another Jebao wavemaker on the way for more flow towards the back of the tank.

I had to get rid of my Gold Nugget Maroons unfortunately. The female was getting pretty aggressive with my Melanurus Wrasse. I traded them in and picked up a pair of Domino Clowns. I am loving them a lot :)

Hey Jay, I know its been awhile since you posted but I was hoping you could help me with something. I am looking at this same tank but have heard that people don't really like the sump size/chambers. What do you think about them, did you replace the sump? Will the 2nd chamber be big enough for a refugium or should I look at getting a different sump for that?

Hey @Chrysantha , I'm not a huge fan of the provided sump as the middle chamber is too small for a fuge to actually thrive in, and too small of a space to be beneficial. I did however keep the sump because I didn't plan on running a fuge. Overall, the tank is really nice and I am loving it. Kind of at a halt as far as livestock is going. Been super busy with work and mainly just doing maintenance on the tank rather than adding stuff.

That makes total sense. I'm just at the very very beginning of starting a setup, will probably be awhile because we are doing house renovations but I wanted to have a plan for once the floor is done so I know what tank to get [emoji4]

I will as soon as we're ready for it, as I'm super excited. I think I go against the grain as I'm the wife trying to convince my husband to get the tank. We saw a 60 cube the other day, and he was ok with the size but said he would prefer a longer tank instead of square which makes me think he'd be ok with this one. I'm hoping they have some of these set up at ReefAPalooza in CA so he can see what ones hes ok with shape wise.
