I love the looks of rimless tanks, and was wondering if anyone has removed the plastic on they're nano cubes? My biggest concern would be scratching my glass. So if any of you have done this please let me know.
Thanks:D

It takes some wriggling but it can be done. I don't recommend it though. I've done it to a cube I had set up a loooong time took the rim off and it started leaking within a week.

Thanks for saving my tank haha

I have seen a few long term tanks that removed the rim. The one i recall was 4 years old. I think i would be way to nervous to do that though. I would be afraid of bowing and your seams breaking!

I removed the rim off my NC 28G about a year ago and it's still doing great! There is a risk that you might crack the glass while doing it, and it's a PITA to remove the leftover silicone , but it can be done. Here are the steps: Cutting a piece off the rim with a dremmer towards the rear, heating the rim with a hair drier to release the silicone and then wedging a putty knife between the glass and the rim slowly(I used a kitchen knife), then lift the rim slowly. I forgot to do the hair drier part, so I used pure muscle! I broke a good sweat!. I did manage to scratch the glass here and there because I should have used a putty knife instead. The outcome was well worth it though. Check out my thread for the rimless look.

I just got a jbj 24 gall and I'm wondering what modifications or improves I can do on it. I'm thinking to change the bulb lights for some led that I saw on ebay, but not sure how good is this light, here's the link:
