During our visit Sunday to the Aquatic Critter a tank right in front of the front doors caught my eye. It was the JBJ 30 gallon Rimless Biotope. I love the look of this tank especially the rounded glass corners. I came home and started doing some research on this tank. Not a whole lot of information out there on this tank, though it does seem that those who have them love them. To make a long story short the wife started hinting around tonight that it would make a good Christmas present . The only bad news is she says I have to wait until Christmas before I can open it ....Like that will happen. So if everything goes according to plan I should have one of these on order by end of the week. Anyone have any thoughts on this tank, or better yet any experience with one? Please feel free to give your opinions and make any suggestions for other options. If I get the tank then I see quite a bit of DIY in my future: stand for starters possibly followed by a DIY led fixture. Wish me luck!

I've been thinking about getting one for awhile now, just haven't had the extra funds for this hobby. I think Andy in the club has one along with the JBJ Unibody light (54w model). I did A LOT of research on these tanks, almost everything I found about them is positive.

I put my planted 40 breeder up for sale to help pay for this, but the wife said we should just but me one and keep the planted since it is her favorite, I am afraid it will just be too many tanks though. I like the jbj unibody led but the price tag being more than the tank hurts. Plus I am still not real sure how I like the shimmer effect.

I would love to get one to make as my reef tank since I'm going FOWLR. Unfortunately my new tank and DIYing is coming out more expensive than planned so it will have to wait. Those look really good.....lucky

Lol funny my diy projects that should be cheaper always come out more expensive as well. I will be sure to post lots of pics for those, like myself, who enjoy living vicariously through others tank builds.

I'm also considering a 30 or 40 gal rimless cube for a future reef tank. It will have to be reefready and I will just have a pair of clowns, BTA, and plenty of corals. I will just have to give it some time before I start even considering that.

I am tossing around the idea of a Deep Blue rimless 80 gallon frag tank right now, but size wise I just can't do it without converting the spare bedroom to a tank/sitting room, which I am all for but with buying the jbj being the wifes idea I am not pushing my luck on this one lol.
