I am planning on Modding my pico light with the nanocustoms LED Retro kit. this retro puts out the par of a 35w HQI, and has a nice blend of color. my problem is I also want to mod an AquaClear70 HOB filter, and section it off, for a fuge, and put my heater in there. to run that HOB filter though, I will not be able to use the stock light, on the back of the tank. sooo..... What I need to do is find some longer struts so that I can mount the light.

anyone have any Idea's where I can buy longer versions of this? extended it's about 4" end to end

why not take it down to a machine shop and see if that can build you a threaded insert to extend it the 4" you need it shouldnt cost to much for the needed piece to be built

even if I can find 2 more at that size, then I can screw them together

the one end is a tongue and the other end is a groove as well. I guess I could tank it down and get something milled, I just figured someone has to prek make these things..

you said one end is threaded right? just get them to make a 4" section with one side male threads and one side female threads it would be a nearly instant fix with out having to search the world over trying to find something that was more then likely imported (and might be hard to find)

I ended up buying a 2nd fixture for the struts. I need a light for the fuge portion anyway, so it works out in the end.
