I use a Tunze ato for my tank top off with no issues. My sump has a chamber for ro/di, that holds about 3.5 gallons. I've been filling that up manually for the last couple months. Had some time today, so I ran my ro/di lines to my tank. Put the JBJ sensors in the top off reservoir to function in the B setting, lower float triggers the pump and the upper to shut it off.
Plugged in the sensors and plugged in a dc adapter to a solenoid. The reservoir was empty so when I plugged the ato in both sensor lights came on and I could hear the solenoid click on. Shortly after the power to the adapter was shut off and the solenoid closed. Both lights were still on signaling both floats were down and the light for the pump was still on. Unplugged the unit waited for a bit then plugged it back in. Again all lights came on and the solenoid clicked on. Couple seconds later shut back off with all lights still on. Did this a couple more times and eventually it stayed on.
Now the unit won't shut off power to the pump outlet. Both float lights are off and the pump light is off but the plug is still hot. Unplugged the unit, plugged it back in and still hot. Unplugged it set it to mode A, plugged it back in and still hot, all lights are still off.
I was going to use this instead of wiring up a latching relay but seems a diy relay may be the safer choice at this point. Am I doing something wrong or is this unit defective?
