JBJ Auto Top Off Problems

So I am having problems with my ATO. First of all it seems like both sensors are working since when the water gets too low the light turns on which then turns the pump on along with the yellow led. However after a little bit or sometimes right away the yellow led dimms and turns off the pump even with the sensor still on. I contacted JBJ and they said it could be a bad sensor but that does not make sense considering the red light indicating the sensor is off turns on still. Any and all help would be appreciated.

my guess is you have a bad float switch

That can still happen even if the light turns red indicating the water is low?

I had trouble with a JBJ auto top off system and ended up replacing it with one from autotopoff.com. This replacement has been running for a year now with no problems. The JBJ unit is now collecting dust in the closet.
