I just got my JBJ this past summer and I am wondering if it is possible to add a sump? I wanting to add a large skimmer and the extra volume.

I was curious if these tanks were made of tempered glass so I called my sales rep at JBJ to find out. The JBJ RL30 & RL45 are made of tempered glass so you cannot drill them.

If you still want to add a sump you could use a hang on overflow box that hung over the very back of the aquarium. Just run both the front and back of the RL 45 full. The overflow will drain the water from the back chamber into your sump.

Good Luck.

JBJ replaced my tank but i am haveing second thought about setting it back up. I just dont want to start over again.
