So I have been running my DP4's for quite some time now and I just started noticing that my alkalinity was not staying consistent with my calcium output. i can tell because I have a dosing container that holds both of those solutions and the alkalinity container is far much lower than the calc. So I decided to recallibrate them. The first callibration for these pumps they were in the 220's. So Pump 1(alk) callibrated at 208 which is what I expected. Pump (2) is 208 as well(calc) Pump(3) is 194(acropower) and pump 4 is 189(magnesium). So my question is that even though these callibration numbers are mostly different from eachother they should still output 100ml around no matter what? Or should I callibrate them all to 208 without checking the other two for being 100ml dosed? Also I seem to get airbubbles in my line is there a way t fix that? Thanks

Look at changing out the line to new ones. I would suggest looking for the silicone medical tubing. Once the calibration has been done you should be good to go. I have two DP4's:)

There is a calibration procedure that must be followed. I think you have to measure 500 ml and when it pumps that much you hit stop. Then it is calibrated. You must do this for all heads used individually. What ever that number is, it is. You schedule how much to dose in the dosing menu.

I use silicone tubing. And I have calibrated them just I was wondering if it was normal for the calibration times to vary.

i had some similar questions, and saltyfilmfolks posted a video that answered many them in this thread:

each pump should be calibrated individually, and its good idea to test it, once its calibrated and programmed, to see that it is actually dosing the programmed amount it seems. the air bubbles are addressed in the video to some extent too. i would just add that i found that an easy way to get rid of them from the outlet side of the pump is to simply hold the outlet tubing up so the air can use its own buoyancy to work its way out of the system during a manual pump before starting the calibration process.

along those lines, i also think its a good idea to calibrate the pump in your intended installed configuration, or as close to it as possible given that pump rates etc. are subject to head pressure based on that configuration.

i have a couple other questions about this pump, since little is covered in the manual, that i may post in another thread, rather than hijack this one.

I had the same problem with my doser, realized the tubing had a very tiny crack in it where it connects to the pump line so it was sucking tiny amounts of air.
