Just curious if anyone had any information on the new smart wave pumps from jeabo. I'm guessing sw stands for smart wave. I've seen them on Amazon and Facebook but can't find any information on them or good videos explaining the pumps functions. I just purchased two jeabo sw-4 for my 50 gallon reef tank. I wanted something that I could easily control with my apex and I'm not sure if this was the answer, but I've had their pumps in the past and have always had pretty good luck with them. For the price you can't argue. So I will try them out and see how they perform. I also plan on making a video, so if anyone has questions in regards to the pumps please ask me and I will try my best to answer. (This is my first post on here so be patient with me)

Okay so here is an update on these pumps. I really like them! They are great little pumps. To answer the $60 question, yes they are compatible with apex but you will have to build your own wire harness to my knowledge there is nothing readily available on the market for controlling this pump. It doesn't use the 3.5 mm headphone jack that I thought it did. It uses a D.C. Power plug but is pretty simple to hook up. I have an instructional video on how to make that wire harness

I have an sw-2. Having problems with it. Its only in a 7.5 gallon tank and when i first put it in it was great. Now there is like no flow at all. When i unplug it and plug it back in it works great for 3 seconds then seems to go into a derate mode. The sleep mode is off and its functions seem to work. Im getting very frustrated with it.

I run four of them in my tank all controlled by my apex. I love them i build conplex wave patterns on par woth the expensive brands for super cheap

Nice video but you kinda took the long way around this as they already make an Apex box that you just plug two pumps to and connect to the apex with a patch cord.

I was thinking about getting the sw-2 for my little nano tank. I think the pumps are almost identical not sure why yours is having problem. I would take apart the pump and make sure there was nothing stuck in there.

Not sure i follow.. i can price 2 of the PP4's and the apex module for $120, also this method only requires one power supply. I see the sw4 going for $70 each and you have to mount two controllers and require two power supplies. Now im not sure what the difference is in the flow between the two but i would bet there the same pump.

I guess you're right it is a little cheaper to go that route.

Im no nocking your efforts as you did an awesome job on the video. Shame they didn't provide better info with that model. The way i look is the options to a set up and the link adapter gives you options to any combo of there pumps. I have a WP40 and a pp8 hooked to mine with separate flow profiles for each.

Yes. At the end of things it was my curiousity that drew me to these sw pumps and when I make a review I will be sure to point out that valid point. That it might just be more cost effective to go with the older pumps and the dongle. Thank you for your input.

No problem.. just sharing.. keep up the good diy stuff thats always helpful
