Jebao 55W UV getting hot - Is this normal?

I just finished plumbing in a Jebao 55 Watt UV and the outside plastic gets hot quickly when the UV light is on. Is this normal?

Its mounted upside-down... The way you mounted it air might get trapped inside the unit and cause it to overheat.

SMH...that could explain it. What if I increased flow and closed the output a little bit to try and completely fill the sterilizer?

That seems to have fixed it. I upped the input and filled the whole tube with water. After 30 minutes it is barely warm.

Did you have to rerun your plumbing? We have ours mounted upside down too, no issues yet, but not worried that something may happen. Our plumbing took several hours run run and wondering if we should redo it all.
